Dear Diary--

I finished my journal! Last page is all done. AHHHH.
This is the journal that I said I would do a page in every day for a year.
Lessons I've learned:
1. This journal does not have 365 pages.
2. Giving myself unrealistic goals does not help me achieve them. Sometimes I need to just accept that there is not time for me to do something in this everyday. Especially when I get behind and need to print stuff out and put it in here. Bad Idea.
3. Even though this was an unrealistic goal that left me feeling disappointed in myself, it did make get into journaling again.
4. I should not have more than one journal at a time.

Anyway, I'm super excited with the finishing of this journal, so I'll just leave you with pictures of the pages. A lot of the best ones have already been shared, so I'm just showing you new pages that I [think I] haven't shared.
xx

And now, here is some inspiration from various artsists/sources of journal pages/journals that I find inspiring. They should go to the source if you click on the pages, but Sabrina Ward Harrison's just says it's by her and one is from tumblr and I couldn't find the source.

I want my journal cover to look like this. Actually my new one is a composition book (really old/destroyed/amazing) and I'm planning to decorate it inspired by this cover.

Part Three.

Hey guys (or guy. person. Anyone?). Hello there.
Lately I've been really wanting a sweater vest that I could wear over long sleeved/short sleeved collared shirts. But Instead I found this dress, which was in my "to be altered" box, so I hadn't really worn it. I mean, it's in the "to be altered box" for a good reason: the armpit holes make my arms get barely any circulation, but it's pwetty so it's worth it, right? Beauty is pain. Or something.

Speaking of supposed beauty, I've been reading up more/looking at other bloggers who are just as passionate about the DISGUSTINGness that is photoshopping models in magazines and getting angry about it all over again. I really wish I had done this for my I-search (30-page report) in freshman year like I planned. That would have been amazing and I would have been forced to get more read-up about the matter. I mean, I touched on it in my I-seach about depression, but not as much as I would have liked to.  It seriously disgusts me how the media totally corrupts girls images of what is beauty. They hold this standard above young, impressionable girls of what is supposedly "beautiful", but is really fake, wrong, and completely untrue. The media constantly tells girls that they have to be perfect,  dangling a photoshopped image in front of these girls, who are likely to become frustrated and discouraged as they they reach for this image of beauty that is completely unattainable for any real human being. Even with girls starving themselves to be this "perfect" and impossible thing, "in our culture we praise weight loss in girls..." (Machoian 140) so even if a girl is not eating, she is getting compliments or is simply not noticed because in our society it is considered "normal." (that last bit was an edited section of my freshman I-search). Anyway, there are a few pictures inspired by that idea after these photos of me.
Sorry for the random tangent and the reaching segway, but this is something that I'm very passionate about, and hope you feel somewhat similarly disgusted. Don't you think the advertisers should have to put a warning or SOMETHING to say that they'd photoshopped these models? I think it should be similar to smoking adds with the SURGEN GENERAL WARNING, saying that smoking is hazardous to your health, but instead has a similar thing saying THE MODELS IN THIS ADVERTISEMENT HAVE BEEN PHOTOSHOPPED AND ARE NOT A REALISTIC REPRESENTATION OF BEAUTY. Or something, because right now this is disgusting.

OH EM GEE.

Hey guys, THIS lovely lady nominated me for the Liebster Award! I had no idea what this was, but I checked out her blog to see what that meant. It means that I was nominated as a favorite blogger with less than 200 followers.
When you get this award, you have to:
-Post 11 things about yourself
-Answer the 11 questions the person giving the award has set for you.
-Create 11 questions for the people you will be giving the award to.
-Choose 11 people to award, with less than 200 followers and send them a link to your post.
-Go to their page and tell them.

Oh also, if I nominate you, I guess you put this badge on your page.

Answers to previous persons questions:
1. What's the most expensive piece of clothing or accessory you ever bought?
I tend not to buy things that are über expensive, especially since I usually buy my clothes at thrift stores, but adding dry cleaning to the cost, I have $100 vintage shorts, but without dry cleaning they were 60. Even still I think that they are my most expensive piece of clothing that I've ever bought for myself.
2. What is your favorite song right now?

This is the hardest question anyone can ever ask...I am such a music nut that I never ever have only one favorite song, but I'll make a little list (with links to the youtube) of my favorite songs right now:
Butterscotch--Cocorosie
Creature Fear--Bon Iver
Cubism Dream--Local Natives
Dance, Dance, Dance--Lykke Li
Gobbledigook--Sigur Rós
July--Crying Day Care Choir
King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1--Neutral Milk Hotel
Lua--Bright Eyes
Lucky Number Nine--The Moldy Peaches (this inspired my new tumblr name indie-boys-are-neur0tic.tumblr.com)
Rise--Eddie Vedder (this video makes me want to cry. It's all just so friggin' beautiful)
At The Bottom of Everything--Bright Eyes
Someone You'd Admire--Fleet Foxes
Good For Great--Matt & Kim
We are Never Ever Getting Back Together--T-swifty. (Because who doesn't love a 20-y.o. girl acting like a teenager. NO one. That's who.)
Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games--of Montreal
3. If you were a shoe, what kind would you be? Why?
I guess I'd be glittered thrifted shoes, because I like to think that I stand out and am unique. Dunno.
4. Who is your favorite designer?
I don't really know that much about designers, but right now my favorite is Miu Miu because I freaking love all their runways shows right now and their collars are to die for.
5. How did you get into blogging?
I really liked New Dress a Day, so I started this blog as "Creative Thing a Day", figuring it would motivate me to actually do a creative thing every day, but it eventually became more and more outfits, after reading Madeline Pendleton, Jessica Virgin, Tavi Gevinson, Bebe Zeva, and Amanda Brohman's blogs, so I changed the name to A Fidelity for Fashion after the year was up.
6. What's your favorite trend for the upcoming season?
Collars under sweaters for both men and women. For men it's sort of a pants-off moment for me. Meaning that if I see them I immediately take my pants off and yell "OH PLEASE JUST HAVE ME." For the ladies I think it is also amazing. I don't know why I like it so much, but the cover of this months Frankie sort of says it all. As well as this amazing vintage vibe it gives off.
7. What is one thing you couldn't live without?
I would say my friends.
If you meant literal object I would say my camera. I had a dream that I was drowning, but I wasn't  freaking out that I was drowning, I was freaking out that I had my camera around my neck and it was probably getting ruined.
8. What/who makes you laugh the hardest?
This, This, Her, This, Them and This.
9. Your wishlist: What's the fashion item you want the most?
Ooooh. Good one. God. No idea. I love everything I see so much, it's like, I can't just choose one thing I like best. But here are some fashions I particularly like that I want at the moment:
--Young girl plastic hair clips
--Flower Crowns
--Long Collars
--Ruffle Socks
--Doc Martens
--Black Converse
--Saddle Shoes
--Blue, Yellow, and Black lipstick
10. Who is your favorite model?
I don't really know that many models, not really into the whole modeling scene.
11. What is your favorite perfume?
I almost never wear perfume except the one I got made for me as a present when I was like 10, which is vanilla and jasmine and just makes me smell all sugary, so I don't really have a favorite.

5. If you had to wear one outfit for an entire year what would it be?
6. What are you most passionate about? Like what can you rant about for hours?
7. Who/what inspires you most?

Also, when if you do a post about this answering my questions, could you link it to me in the comments? I wanna read your answers!

So excited! Can't wait to see what you guys say! (I believe this is the most exclamations points I have ever used in a paragraph before. I feel like an annoyingly peppy girl. I apologize. I'm just excited.)

Part Two.

This is day two of my black and white week.
I got these AWESOME pants at Thrift Town as part of my back to school shopping and cuffed and sewed them the morning before wearing them. I'm sort of in love with them.
Ugh. I've got to read 50 pages of the scarlet letter for homework, but first I wanna post a little interesting tid-bit about lyfe and music and gahh.
Well, I'm going to see Matt and Kim in concert and I'm SOOOOOOOOO excited. My friend and I were talking about how they seem like the most fun people to see live, I mean, they both seem so happy and awesome and dance-y. I mean, watch the music video at the end of this. They're just so happy and awesome and just alkjfuafwleij. I'm so freaking excited. Do you ever have those bands that you just know are going to be awesome in concert and then they come near you and you get to see them? IT'S SO AWESOME.
Last year I got to see one of my favorite bands live as well, Bon Iver, which was ALSO amazing though a totally different experience. His music is much more soporific. Though, actually in concert he was pretty loud. I dunno. I'm just so excited I cannot even talk about it. eeeeeeeeee. Just look at pictures of me looking super un-happy in contrary to the writing of fRkKING AmAZING EXCITMENT. AHHHH.

Black and White Week.

So, this started as an accident, but this entire week I've worn only black and white. I'm not really sure why, I mean, I recently aquired this vintage sweater...(by buying it for $20 at Mars Vintage.) and I also recently bought a black and white dress, a pair of black velvet pants (Thrift Town is the bomb) etc. so I guess, I just had a lot of black and white things. Anyway, once I got to wednesday and was wearing black and white, I figured I might as well make it a thing since my nails were painted black with one half sparkly on each hand. And the sparkle nail polish is REALLY hard to get off.

Um. this doesn't feel like enough photos, so I've made a little inspiration post to come after this that are all a bunch of pictures from tumblr that sort of go with this outfit/the black and white theme of this week:
Tavi Gevinson's Shoes. Gorg.
Princess Diana, 1984

The Virgin Suicides screen shot.
Beatles, baby
(*insert the usual schpeel about tumblr's unreliablilty and how if this is your photo and you want credit/want it to be taken down contact me*)
okay.
Have a lovely weekend,
xx
