DICKS DICKS DICKS

(I'm sorry for this title Grandma...)
So I recently went to the Keith Haring exhibit at the Deyoung Museum, and it was incredible!! It wasn't just his classic dancing people or just his babies, but also his really political works, his graphic crazy dick drawings, his whole dick journal including, but absolutely not limited to "self portrait: erect", "minimal penis", etc. I took some photos there (pictures were allowed), which are dispersed among these outfit photos. I realized how little I knew about Keith Haring when I went to this exhibit. His work is all done in like a ten year time span, because he died really young from AIDS. He was INCREDIBLY prolific, and did a lot of pieces that took only a few minutes. I loved the show, it's gone now so I can't encourage everyone to see it, but I hope everyone who could saw it, because it was incredible! One of the best things to see honestly, was the really pretentious art people staring a these huge dicks like analyzing it. I just loved it. Anyway, this shirt was a copy of one of the journal pages (I put the photo of it down below), expanded into a pattern that could go over a whole shirt. It's funny, because I've been thinking about what to draw on shirts, since I made the boob shirt in this post, and literally as soon as I saw this page of his journal, I was like "oh shit, this would look SO sick on a shirt. It's not really finished yet: I want to make the pattern come up higher (slightly), but I was too excited to not wear it immediately.
I based literally this entire outfit around my boyfriend's hat, which he left at my house. I've been SO obsessed with the baseball cap vibe lately. Like "masculine" clothes with the "feminine". (similar aesthetic to this post. I've been scouring the mens section in thrift town now. My short hair I think is making me more into androgyny, also maybe this post when I did my makeup like a "girl" and "boy". (Also I just look so good in baseball caps)

My boyfriend, Zach, in a blacklit room (his jacket was glowing!)
I hope you're all doing well!
Go to see some art at a museum near you! I forgot how amazing it is to see it in person. And we got a walking tour, which really made it interesting as well, I do like hearing the analysis of the piece (especially since being in art history, I think, I want to know more what's behind the work and more about the artist themselves)

Live Fast, Die Fast

GET IT?? CAUSE THE GRAVESTONE?? I wonder how many other people have seen this gravestone and made that joke.
One thing I do love about this semester, is I'm actually getting to photograph my outfits because I get out so early. I've hated nearly EVERYTHING else about having classes five days a week, but this is definitely a highlight. I have photos PILING UP. I have no less than THREE other outfits to post (*the crowd gasps*). That's all I have to say for now! New post soon!
(Dress: Thrift Town/Belt: Thrift Town/Socks: Halloween Store/Shoes: Thrift Town) (I haven't done one of these in a while!!)
(Simpson's Sweatshirt: Forever 21/Colour Block Grid Button-Up: Thrift Town/Green Skirt: Thrift Town/Socks: Hot Sox Art Socks)
SMILING??

January Journals

I finished my most recent journal a few weeks ago, and scanned some of the best pages that I haven't posted yet. (Previous posts of this journal here and here) I recently became part of the tumblr thejournalclub, which has been inspiring me a lot to do more journaling. Being on break, combined with that led to a lot of journaling and I very quickly finished the second half of my journal! (The first half took me three months to fill, the second half is all one month!) Some of the month is in this video posted here on my tumblr.

My new journal is all coloured pages, so I'm excited to post photos of that too!! But I won't overwhelm you with all that, so first here is this stuff!

(IMPORTANT: some of these are super angsty or personal, but I don't want to cover anything up because I think the writing adds to the whole thing, so please, just...be respectful...)

Adidas, Eyebrows, and Ruffled Socks

Hello again!
One of my New Years Resolutions has been to update this blog more often, which it seems is coming along! Yay!
I started school again and have been trying to consistently dress nice. I often feel I have to prove my major to people, since it's really the only thing you can see straight up from the outside. Like, when I tell people I'm a Fashion Major EVERY TIME I see them look me up and down. I don't wanna be wearing something silly when they do that. I wanna look good! Zach has been feeling similarly--we both want to up our look game, so we went shopping together in the Mission. I've been searching and coveting adidas white sneakers for a while. It's part of the ~healthgoth~ movement, which tbh I've been into... Plus, I have like 15 pairs of black shoes and basically no white ones (one pair??, and 2 black and white pairs??..not enough obvs) Anyway, Zach and I walked into Thrift Town and what do I see?? Fucking adidas Shell Toed Sneakers (EXACTLY what I asked for for Christmas ($75 retail price)) for $5 in MY SIZE (which is literally unheard of because I'm a 10.5!!??) (clearly I was very excited..and still have been....for weeks...every look I've photographed for the last two weeks has included these kick ass shoes....but look at them! All worn in already...looking sooo cute with my different ruffled socks <3_<3 I'm obsessed.
I got this shirt when I got the sneakers (from a different store, but same trip). ($4!!!)
Fry themed look!! I made this skirt last semester, and Zach gave me this sweatshirt cause he loves me and gets me....

I hope you've all had a lovely week!!!!
